We have been to Samoa twice in our lifetime, once in 1971 and once in 2003. Both times we were mesmerized by it’s beauty and lovely people. In 1971 we stayed in Apia at Aggie’s and then in 2003 we stayed at Aggie’s again and it was again a trip of a lifetime. This time we went to the Island of Savaii, and stayed at the Tanu Family Resort. Were we ever glad we did. The family was so wonderful to all the guests, and staying in a fali on the beach was too good to be true. Everyday they feed us very well and the entertainment was authenic and something we will never forget. People from all over the world came to stay there. From there we went back to Apia and stayed at Virgin Cove Resort. That was like a dream. The place was like one pictures Paradise. There too the food and entertainment was spectacular. We just came back from a Caribbean cruise, and Samoa surpasses them all. We had gone to 9 Caribbean Islands. We would highly recommend Samoa and hope to go back there someday.
We stayed at Hennies sports bar and B&B – i can say absolutely NOTHING bad about this place.
From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome – it was here that we got to meet many of the locals and share a few Vailima’s (great beer).
Hennies is a nice, comfortable, friendly and clean place to stay and eat – I will definitely go back to visit this coming trip even if its only for a few meals, beers and to see everyone. I believe in loyalty and want to take my kids to meet the people i so often speak highly of.
Hennie, Paf and their staff are wonderful.
There are many places of accommodation ranging from basic fales – which are great to see the open skies, and more luxurious like the Sinalei.
We stayed at The Outrigger when we first arrived, to acclimatise to the heat. It was a great place with a pool, airconditioning and fabulous tropical breakfasts.
For the next two weeks we travelled around the Islands and stayed with many wonderful people. I have a special place in my heart for a wonderful lady on Manono Island called Velonica. She took us in when the place we were booked into was full, and she could not have made our two days with her any better.
