Road Switch is Complete Sep 08

samoaleftFinally on September 7 directly after the biggest Tourism Festival “Teuila Festival” the road switch from right to left took place. Both Monday the 7th and Tuesday the 8th are holidays to keep too many cars off the road. What will happen on Wednesday when all people are going back to work and many kids back to school is still to be seen.

The fact that most busses still have their doors on the wrong side allowing people to step out directly in the middle of the street is very worrying. It has been said that the busses with the doors still on the wrong side are not allowed to drive anymore. The question is how people are going to transport themselves to their work in Apia as most people from the back villages are relying on busses?

Lets hope that all drivers still remember to keep left after a late night at the nightclub. Samoa Observer has more reading to offer. Also read about the Bus owners concern.

Live to Work, not Work to Live Sep 08

One of the most challenging parts in my life has been the struggle to make a good living and I know that I am not alone facing these problems. A few years back it was thrown in my face that there are 2 kinds of people, the ones that do something about it and the ones that don’t. I wanted to do something about it and as soon as I took the decision opportunities started to come my way. We are never too old to learn and what I discovered is that there are many people out there that has been in the same situation and managed to change it and at the same time dedicate their lives to teach other people about it. We don’t have to go through the same mistakes, struggle and challenges if we find a good mentor.

Robert Allen changed my life and I believe that now it is my time to give to others what I once received. I could not think of any better way at this time than getting Robert Allen’s & Mark Victor Hansen’s fantastic teaching that just has been released and designed for these hard economic times. They call it “Cash in a Flash” Fast Money in Slow Times.

We want to be able to live a good life, feed our family and do our travels also in the present time. If you feel that you should get out of your comfort Zone and do something, then this is for you. I can just say that it has changed MY life…

Tourist Travel Behavior have changed Mar 27

maloloWhen I got into the hotel business in Samoa about 12 years ago, it was common to go to the capital Apia for at least 2 or 3 nights to collect information about the country and make further travel plans around the islands.

If you were one of these early traveller to Samoa you probably would find me at the airport asking you if you need an accommodation. Back then many people travelled without knowing where to go when they arrived and as many of us knew about that, we were there to offer what we got.

Today things looks much different and the reason is the Internet. Almost everyone make their travel plans outside of Samoa and will be able to go from website to website and check out what it looks like before they arrive. The new trend is to go straight to the beach and not to the capital Apia as before. Most beach Resorts have their own pick up service and someone will be waiting with a sign with your name on.

People do still go to Apia but sometimes just for the day for shopping and then back to the resort again. Although Samoa has great beaches we also have lots of interesting things around the town aria. If you would like to explore the food or flea Market plus the excellent night life you should plan for a few nights in Apia. If you like to play Golf we do have two 18 holes golf courses close to town or why not visit the former home of the famous writer Robert Louis Stevenson. As there are many good hotels in the town area but not enough long staying tourists, you will be able to get a good deal on the accommodation as well.

Whatever you are after you should know that we only have three rules to follow:

  1. Slow down and enjoy the small things in life.
  2. If you really feel like doing anything, then do it.
  3. Return to rule number one.

Opportunity Season in Samoa Feb 07

rica_waterfallThe Season from December – March has often been called the rainy season or wet season and many visitors have decided not to go to Samoa because of the weather. The truth is that we have fantastic weather during this time and most rain comes during the night. The wind is less strong which makes it slightly warmer if you go inland. Most of our visiting guests like to sit right on the beach were it is nice and cool always.

I have heard people say, lets go to Fiji or Cook island because there is no rainy season. The fact is, they have exactly the same climate and weather, there is only one difference – they newer call it “The Rainy Season”.

From Now on lets call it “The Opportunity Season” which it truly is. We have lower rates on all flights, hotels and car rentals, it is less crowded if you like to go golfing on one of our 3 Golf Courses, rent a car and go exploring the living culture on the island or just spend the time on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

You should take a look at the low air fares from Polynesian Blue or Air New Zealand during this time. Check out our accommodation deals for all our hotels on our www.samoa-experience.com website.

See you soon in Samoa, the island of Opportunity….

Sunny Greetings

Mats
